Property prices in Pullenvale are higher than nearby Kenmore because homes are larger and allotment size is usually 2.5 acres or more. Public transport to the area is limited to the Brisbane City Council express buses that stop along Moggill Rd.  The area is also serviced by private school buses for morning and afternoon school runs.

The Rafting Ground Park Reserve, accessible from Moggill Rd, is a much-used picnic location with a typical Australian bush setting. It has parking, picnic tables, toilet facilities, drinking water and bush walking. Moggill Creek runs through the reserve.

A brief history of Pullenvale

In 1948, the powers that be decided to build a road to connect Ipswich via Moggill. The fact that the Brisbane River was in the way meant that a ferry crossing was needed – it still operates today.

From this time, the area developed with a timber industry then small crop farming that lead to more people settling in the area.

In 1873, the Pullenvale School was built. This original school building is now part of the Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre that provides visits state and non-state schools to help young people understand how schools functioned in the 19th century.
